Icelandair Cargo will take over sales- and marketing of freight transport for Air Iceland
Since Air Iceland establishment they have operated a freight department in domestic flights. In recent years there has been an increase growth in air freight between Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. To service customers Air Iceland even better and seize international opportunties in the North Atlantic area, Icelandair Cargo, which specializes in international air freight will take over the freight department of Air Iceland.
Icelandair, Icelandair Cargo and Air Iceland will henceforth offer total of 54 destinations. This cooperation will strengthen the position in the global market and offer many new opportunities for customers in these areas.
Since May 1st, employees of the freight division of Air Iceland have joined the staff of Icelandair Cargo. The operations will still remain at Reykjavik national airport. Air Iceland will continue to receive and deliver cargo at their destinations and transport goods in their airplanes.
